וּמִן־הַגָּדִ֡י נִבְדְּל֣וּ אֶל־דָּוִיד֩ לַמְצַ֨ד מִדְבָּ֜רָה גִּבֹּרֵ֣י הַחַ֗יִל אַנְשֵׁ֤י צָבָא֙ לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה עֹרְכֵ֥י צִנָּ֖ה וָרֹ֑מַח וּפְנֵ֤י אַרְיֵה֙ פְּנֵיהֶ֔ם וְכִצְבָאיִ֥ם עַל־הֶהָרִ֖ים לְמַהֵֽר׃ (ס)
Und von den Gaditern trennten sich dort David zu der Festung in der Wüste, mächtige Männer von Tapferkeit, Männer, die für den Krieg ausgebildet waren und mit Schild und Speer umgehen konnten; deren Gesichter waren wie die Gesichter von Löwen, und sie waren so schnell wie die Rehe auf den Bergen;
